From 7 to 9 June 2027, Dresden, Germany will host the fib Symposium 2027, the first time in over 25 years that the event returns to Germany. Held under the motto “ReThink Concrete: Structures for Sustainable Transformation,” the symposium will offer researchers, engineers, industry experts, and other stakeholders a forum to exchange knowledge, debate innovative approaches, and help shape the future of sustainable concrete structures.
The programme will address the latest state-of-the-practice, recent innovations, and future perspectives in modern building and design, sustainability, structural health monitoring, and resilience in civil engineering, complemented by networking opportunities, a trade exhibition, and technical tours.
Confirmed keynote speakers include:
- Prof. Dr. Walter Kaufmann (ETH Zürich), on “Structural Concrete – Quo Vadis?”
- Prof. Els Verstrynge (KU Leuven), on multi-scale assessment of reinforcement corrosion
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Peter Mark (Ruhr University Bochum), on modular circularity of RC structures
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Viktor Mechtcherine (TU Dresden), on pathways to climate-neutral and resource-efficient construction
The call for papers is open until 31 July 2026, and the call to organize special sessions has an extended deadline of 10 July 2026.
