The 7th fib Congress, a major international event on structural concrete, will be held in Lisbon from 15 to 19 June 2026 under the theme “Structural Concrete 2050: Towards Carbon Neutrality, AI Design, and Robotic Construction.”
Organised by the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib) with local hosts GPBE and Instituto Superior Técnico, the congress will bring together engineers, researchers, and industry experts from around the world. Over four days of sessions and keynote talks, speakers will explore innovations in sustainable concrete materials, artificial intelligence-assisted design, robotic construction techniques, seismic retrofitting, and the robustness of modern prefabricated structures.
Young professionals will benefit from dedicated sessions led by the fib Young Members Group (YMG), while students can take part in a design and technical competition. A technical exhibition featuring leading companies in concrete construction will run alongside the main programme, providing opportunities for networking and showcasing new products and services.
On the final day, delegates can choose from two technical visits: one to an existing cable-stayed bridge in Lisbon and another to an arch bridge under construction in Porto.
The event takes place at Culturgest, in the heart of Lisbon, and coincides with pleasant early-summer weather, an incentive for attendees to explore the city’s historic sites, such as Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery, or take short trips to nearby towns like Sintra and Cascais.
Early-bird registration is currently open, with different fee options available for professionals, students, and YMG members.
