Madrid begins the countdown to the 2024 European Conference: the key event for the concrete industry
6/11/2024
The European Association for Construction Repair, reinforcement, and Protection (ACRP), in collaboration with the National Association for Concrete Repair, Reinforcement, and Protection (ARPHO), is organizing the 2024 European Conference: Repair, Reinforcement, and Protection of Concrete, which will take place on November 28 at the Public Works Study and Experimentation Center (CEDEX) in Madrid.
This pioneering event replaces the usual ARPHO Forum, which for the past 10 years has served as the meeting point for concrete professionals. This time, our collaboration elevates the conference to a international level, providing a unique forum for knowledge exchange, idea discussions, and the creation of connections among experts from across the world.
Event Objectives:
- Share technical and scientific knowledge on the latest innovations in the concrete sector.
- Foster connections between professionals, researchers, and companies at an international level.
- Provide an enriching experience through lectures and panel discussions.
Unique Program
The conference will feature sessions in several languages with simultaneous translation. Key speakers include Ales Jakubik, president of ACRP, and Leszek Szmaj, president of ARPHO, who will open the event. The program will also address key topics such as concrete repair in the U.S. and Canada, European regulations, and advances in monitoring and predictive maintenance of concrete structures.
Among the experts participating in the conferences and round tables are:
- Eric Hauth – International Concrete Repair Institute, ICRI
- Michel Donadio – Chairman of CEN/TC 104/SC8
- Carmen Andrade – Senior Researcher at the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering, CIMNE
- David Fernández-Ordóñez – The International Federation for Structural Concrete, FIB
- Francisco Esteban Lefler – The World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure, PIANC
- Javier Sánchez – Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences, IETcc
- Sue Arundale – European Engineering Consultancies, EFCA
- Andreas Brandner – European Council of Civil Engineers, ECCE
