SANACE 2025 Symposium: Concrete Repair at the Forefront of European Expertise
11/06/2025

From June 3–4, 2025, the city of Brno hosted SANACE 2025, a prestigious professional symposium held under the patronage of the European association ACRP. The event attracted many experts from the Czech Republic and abroad, offering a rich program of technical presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities focusing on the future of structural repair and protection.

Opening of the conference
The event was officially opened by Dr. Aleš Jakubík, President of the Czech Association for Concrete Structure Repairs (SSBK) and European Association for Construction Repair, reinforcement and Protection (ACRP), who emphasized in his keynote:
“Repair today is much more than just a technical operation. It sits at the intersection of sustainability, modern technologies, climate resilience, and heritage conservation. A proper repair is not merely a fix—it is a systematic intervention based on understanding the structure’s behavior, materials, and history, with responsibility toward the future.”
A major highlight of the program was the roundtable panel “The Future of Concrete Repairs in the Czech Republic: Technology, People, Responsibility”, featuring leaders from Railway Administration, Highways Directorate, Brno University of Technology, and leading engineering firms. The panel explored future challenges and generated concrete recommendations to guide policy and technical developments in the sector.

Award ceremony for SSBK personalities
The symposium concluded with an awards ceremony honoring distinguished individuals for their long-term contributions to the field—both in academia and industry.
