Storage, use and disposal of repair products and systems

storage

In order to ensure utilization of the products before the warranty period expires, it is vital to adhere to the manufacturer’s storage protocols, which are typically found on the packaging and technical data sheets. Most materials are best preserved in dry facilities within the temperature range of 5 – 20 ºC, preferably within their original, unopened packaging.

Furthermore, the manufacturer’s instructions should be followed during preparation, including quantities of water and mortar, as well as how the ingredients should bemixed. Suitable mixing equipment, such as spiral mixers attached to hand drills for on-site applications, facilitates efficient preparation.

Following mixing, timely application to the targeted structure is critical, considering the open time, which varies according to material type and environmental factors, including temperature. Once the open time elapses, any attempts to alter the curing process, such as additional water addition, prove futile. Environmentally responsible disposal of packaging materials is equally important, with periodic inspections serving as a method for overseeing the quantity and types of materials employed.

These meticulous considerations underscore the multifaceted nature of material properties and their pivotal role in quality remediation processes.
